I was asked to create an identity for the UX design team at GE Digital. The goal of this projects was to: 1. Infuse more culture and collaboration amongst our forty-member team, 2. Gain awareness for UX capabilities from our fellow engineers and developers, and 3. Have fun!
We kicked off the project with a campaign to raise awareness for what we were doing. This led to a series of workshops and sketch sessions with the team, to help define what the design should be.
The final solution was inspired by the many individual talents that our team members bring to the table, in addition to the many components it takes to keep GE—and thus the world—running. Our team interfaces with a range of businesses (i.e. aviation, nuclear energy, renewable energy, power, transportation …), so we created a “shape tool-kit” that allows us to construct visuals to support each faction.
